So, what is the ideal time for you to invest in a franchise business of your own?
- Is it when you've been downsized?
- Is it when your current job just isn't "doing it" for you, anymore?
- Is it when you've finally decided to gain some control in your professional life
Or, maybe your online-astrologist said to do it, last Sunday evening...
Ok. So maybe "Mary The Mystic" didn't influence your decision to explore some business ownership ideas this month. But something did.
Maybe it's something else. I remember hearing about a guy who calls himself, "The Career Renegade." I looked him up. His name is actually Jonathan Fields, and he's a pretty successful Coach and Author.
Here's what he said;
“At some point, it dawns on you that the corporate ladder is really more of a treadmill. You run faster, work harder, climb-higher, sweat more blood and push through stifling fatigue. But, in the end, all too often, you’re no freer or happier than the day you began. In fact, for many, as your lifestyle expands to gobble-up nearly every dollar you make, it’s quite the opposite. The day-to-day stress, relentless posturing, politics, negotiating and hours spent on minutiae increasingly suck the life out of you. Body, mind and spirit, slowly and methodically being sucked dry.”
Nice visual, that "being sucked dry." I think I can hear James Young, the President of Spring-Green Franchising, giggling wildly from his Formica covered desk. (Kidding. it's not Formica. James is really getting into this sustainable stuff, so it's probably been re-covered with bamboo.)
Anyway, if you feel that you're being sucked dry, as Mr. Fields suggested, could it be your time?
Here's one Spring-Green Franchise owner's reason for investing in a franchise of his own.
I mentioned "Mary The Mystic, before. It's kind of funny, but for some folks, it's kind of not.
Joel Libava has been a great help with our franchise company's social media and content marketing initiatives . I did a search for articles that pertain to "reasons to get into a franchise" and one of his franchise articles came up in Google. Joel thinks that these reasons may propel some folks to start looking at franchises in a real serious way;
- A week after winning the jackpot on a progressive slot machine
- A month after winning the state lottery
- The year your last child graduates college
- After your fifth corporate downsizing
There's even a few more. Read them over at AllBusiness.com
