It's not that difficult to juggle two things...especially if you're an experienced franchise industry veteran.
According to Spring Green's president, James Young, those two things include;
1. Providing support and marketing for local franchisees
2. Growing the franchise throughout the country.
Both are important pieces of the puzzle in a franchise business..
Of course, Spring-Green Lawn Care Corporation, a Plainfield based franchisor, knows a thing or two about franchisee support and new franchise unit sales.
That because they've been around for over 30 years!
Not only is that a long time to be in business according to franchise industry standards, it's quite a long time to be in business, period.
Part of the reason for Spring-Green's longevity has to do with how management looks at it's franchisees. According to Young, "Our franchisees, our "partners"...have bought into our business; that's no small feat. It takes courage to write a check out to a franchise company...to become a franchisee. A "partner," if you will." Read more about the Spring-Green partnership.
This "partnership" philosophy goes a long way. A succesful franchise organization must have franchisees that have bought into the organization's ideas...and yes, even their philosophies.
If the franchisees don't "believe" in the franchisors core values, their chances of success will probably be diminished. Great stories like this one from Spring-Green Lawn Care's Washington DC area franchisees would be hard to come by.
Young also focuses on finding new ways to attract new franchise owners...the art of bringing new franchisees into the Spring-Green family.
One way he's done that is to create an additional franchise model; the executive one.
It's a nice fit for what's been going on with regards to small business lending. The Executive Model attracts a higher-net worth franchise buyer, so there's a much better chance of getting a franchise funded.
Could You Be Right For The Executive Model?
The Naperville Sun just did a nice story on James Young, and Spring-Green Lawn Care. In the article, Young talks about the lawn care business, and how he's been able to help Spring-Green grow. Read the franchise article.
